El Guicho - Bombay NSFW

El Guincho - Bombay from CANADA on Vimeo.

This completely off the hook El Guincho video is actually a trailer for a larger film. Directed by Nicolas Mendez, El Guincho's steel drummed, psyche-tropical trip into the human cosmos.

El Guincho, aka Pablo Díaz-Reixa is one strangely amazing dude who, growing up on the Canary Isles, was starved for 80's pop culture. He was just "a homeboy, who didn't know about much except the beach and the sea."

The Original Fat Cap Chair

Earlier this year, industrial designer Sander van Heukelom presented two conceptual pieces inspired by graffiti culture. Originally created as part of an exhibition, the Fat Cap design will now make its way into a commercial release. This video documents the process from sketch to finish for the chairs which will be available this fall through FatCapChair.com.

Timelapse Tokyo

inter // states from Samuel Cockedey on Vimeo.

There are a few things that I love in this world. One of them is timelapse videos, as you can tell by the earlier post in this blog. This video in particular shows the city of Tokyo. I like the fact that such videos allow you to see societies and cities in a total different perspective. We can see the city's pulse and movement reflecting such aesthetic that makes me appreciate living in a vivid city such as Dallas.

Photographer Samuel Cockedey and ambient/electronic musician Paul Frankland (also known as Woob) link up in this new timelapse video of Tokyo titled inter // states.

Pioneers! O Pioneers!

The Hundreds NYC opened up their doors last week. Check out their blog. They made a plate with this poem for the store front. I find it quite inspirational. Hope you do to. Enjoy.

Little Big Belrin

Little Big Berlin from pilpop on Vimeo.

Filmmaker pilpop channels his love and appreciation for the city of Berlin with a video titled “Little Big Berlin”. Having spent 19 years in the German capital, the city’s allure comes not only from the architecture that pilpop deems “stunningly beautiful, only its inhabitants make Berlin the unique city that it is.” The video was shot with a Sony HC9 tilt-shift lens.

adidas 2010 Fall/Winter Nizza

I've had my pair of Nizza's for over 2 years now. Not as white as they used to be, but still shining. This is by far my favorite shoe design by adidas. Slim, light, and simple.

The Nizza High from adidas Originals has become one of the brand’s most relevant models within the last few seasons. Ultimately carrying a simple profile with some design enhancements such as a zipper through the back, the sneaker goes an unconventional route seen here. Utilizing a tartan print, a bow-tie further adorns the front of the Nizza. And of course a colab between Porter and adidas below.

"Smells Like Thrift Store"

Taylor came by the other day and brought with him a talented friend, Nina. Well she called herself Nina. She's originally from Cali but resides in Colorado and plays guitar everywhere. She was on her way to Austin to perform and made a stop by Dallas to record with Taylor. They went off on a jam session while I was doing Cindirella's job by sweeping and waxing my wooden floor.

After jamming and cleaning we headed down to City Tavern to show her what drinking like a Texan was really like. Of course, we couldn't have gone down to the tavern without having some Dirty Dusty's - a perfect combination of alcohol and beer that will make you wanna wear some boots and ride a horse.

Exactly....

"I'm Ghenghis Grill, You're Just Ramen Noodles"

I just recently finished a series of paintings for Candice. She's a talented musician that just got back from playing a gig in the sinful city that is Las Vegas. Upon her return she came to my spot to check out the progress. She was psyched out about the pieces and can't wait to get 'em. Anyhow, she came back with all these crazy stories, from drunken brawls, punching people, gambling all the gas money, getting a 800 dollar guitar for free, and how crazy it is when you experience Las Vegas. She even looked like she was dealing with some 2-day-old hangover.
